Suren Pandya is a Board Certified Chaplain with the Association of Professional Chaplains. Born into the Vaishnava tradition and later influenced by both the pluralistic vision and maternal devotion of Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, Suren brings forth a comparative and integrative approach to Spiritual Care spanning different Hindu traditions and beyond. He specializes in Palliative and End of Life care. He has served as the inpatient Chaplain for Palliative Care as well as the Oncology and Hematology Unit at Onvida Health in Yuma, Arizona. He is now transitioning to a new position to serve as the Inpatient Pediatric Palliative Care Chaplain at MemorialCare Miller Children’s and Women’s Hospital in Long Beach, California.
Suren has given educational presentations to Student Chaplains and Medical Residents regarding Hindu Beliefs and Practices and their impact on patient care, and has educated student chaplains regarding spiritual assessment models as well as theoretical approaches and their application when documenting visits in the electronic medical record.” |
